Messi vs Ronaldo: When do Barcelona play Juventus in the Champions League 2020-21 group stage?

With Barcelona drawing Juventus in the Champions League group stage, here's what you need to know about when the two GOATs are facing off

The 2020-21 Champions League group stage draw saw Barcelona and Juventus placed in Group G - meaning a long-awaited reunion between former rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is on the cards.

Barca emerged victorious on October 28 after defeating Juve 2-0 in Turin and Messi got himself on the scoresheet, but the occasion was void of Ronaldo's presence.

However, fear not - because there is still another chance that they will come head-to-head again.

So when will they meet in the Champions League this season? Goal takes a look.

When will Messi and Ronaldo play against each other in the Champions League?

Messi and Ronaldo were due to face off twice in the group stage - once at Camp Nou, and once at Allianz Arena.

Ronaldo's positive Covid-19 test, however, meant that he missed the first leg at the Allianz on October 28.

He will have another chance to meet with Messi in the return game at Camp Nou on December 8.

The fun doesn't necessarily stop there either.

Barcelona and Juventus have topped Group G and will progress into the knockout stage, so it is possible that they will meet again in the later phases of the competition.

Have Messi and Ronaldo faced off in the Champions League?

Messi and Ronaldo have played against each other five times in the Champions League, twice while Ronaldo was playing for Manchester United and three more times when he was a Real Madrid player.

The last time the two met in the Champions League, however, was in the 2010-11 season.

Barcelona knocked Real Madrid out in the semi-finals - with Messi scoring twice in the first leg at the Bernabeu - and were later crowned champions, defeating Manchester United at Wembley in the final.

We officially have the best team in the history of football!

What a team! France Football has decided to declare the best team in the history of football in 2020. As the "Golden Ball" award was skipped for this year due to the pandemic, France Football decided to declare the best team ever. 140 journalists from all over the world took part in the voting, and it was officially over today. The choice was not easy at all, but when you look at the team, most of you will agree, although there have been too many good players in history and it is logical that we will miss someone. However, when everything is added and subtracted, who are we to say anything about this choice ?! In a 3-4-3 formation, the best team in history looked like this: Yashin - Kafu, Beckenbauer, Maldini - Xavi, Mateus, Maradona, Pele - Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo. According to many comments, most of the disagreements were in the midfield, besides Xavi and Lothar Matheus, there were also Zinedine Zidane and Andres Iniesta. The honor of our country was...
